Booking.com
I made a booking on the site which was confirmed by them and then I promptly received a message from the hotel saying the price on the site had been wrong (probably too low, although that was not stated) and that also the accommodation was already booked for the period in question so no longer available. I was told to get a refund from the site, but in fact I had not paid anything yet and on top of that I am still in a free cancellation period.
Does anyone reliably know (i.e. precedent and/or consumer rules and regulations) whether I must simply accept that the booking and confirmation are null and void or perhaps I should resist being so unceremoniously "dumped/bounced" ?
