I thought I would see loads but only recorded two species, Comma and a large white.

We've had a lot of peacock and small tortoiseshell this year

Peacock, large white, gatekeeper, speckled wood and a comma.
Neighbouring allotments got a hummingbird moth, last week.

My buddleia bush is in full bloom, but only seen the odd cabbage white and hardly any bees. Quite depressing really. It's probably the fifth year now that there have been very few butterflies, but this year a lack of bees as well.

I see Large Whites & Red Admirals here but many fewer of both in recent years.

We had a Hummingbird Hawkmoth last week. I registered it with the Butterfly Conservation Org. Perhaps you might like to do that Melv?

I've seen all the above, apart from the humbingbird moth, all a different times though and in fewer numbers.
My fav so far is the painted lady.

The hummingbird hawk moth is in deed a sight to behold and this summers weather is just what they like, so all digits crossed!!

Watching the painted ladies return this evening on the Buddleia was a real delight, like a drunk who landed a job as a nightwatchman in a liquor store, sampling every drop of nectar like there was no tomorrow.

A hummingbird moth! Saw lots on holiday this year but to see one here would be wonderful!
