What's The Strangest Things Your Neighbours Do ?

The block of 6 flats where I live has an intercom entry system. One of the neighbours keeps leaving the main door on the latch, also he disabled it so you don't need to use a key. Why would anyone do this on purpose ?

Silly thing to do in these security conscious days. Perhaps he doesn’t like fumbling for his keys. Also, it may invalidate your contents insurance.

If he did it in our block he would be on notice. No one should be allowed to impact on the security of other residents. I am lucky they are really hot on that sort of thing here. Even temporarily blocking the door open is frowned upon except when someone is moving in or out.

We did have one person in the block who left his cold tap running 24/7 so he could always have really cold fresh water. That was stopped because the people in neighbouring flats were annoyed by the noise.

He owns the flat. Property managers are useless.

No the others in the block don't seem to mind

Try talking to him first, explaining how he is putting everyone's security at risk. Could he not have a keysafe fitted he would just have to give people the code.

You might have to get a solicitor to see where you stand in terms of enforcing the security rules. Otherwise get it put right yourself and write telling him if he does it again you will take him to the small claims court for the cost.

I am a lone woman here. All the others are men and they are all in cahoots, but he has a wife. I think she is frightened of him.

I'd ask the police round to do one of those security check things..they might put latch back and advise all the residents of good security..he might get spooked
