Galaxy counters were the dogs b's
I remember as a kid in the 70's you could get 4 Black jacks or fruit salads for 1p, so with your 10p pocket money it was straight down the corner shop for a copy of the Beano for 5p and a massive bag of sweets. Life was so much better then!
THE Katy I remember the banana sweets but have forgotten what they were called.
And why don't pink shrimps tatse the same anymore?
One of my favourites was Bazooka Joe bubble gum with the little comic inside. I remember saving up wrappers and sending off for a Bazooka Joe T shirt. I wore it as often as possible and used to pester my mum to get it washed and dried quickly. We were in America last year and saw a shop selling the gum. It still has the wee comic inside.
Hated Old English Spangles - gads.......
Cadbury's Ice Breaker.
Mint Cracknell
Lemfizz sweets - square shaped like paving slabs.
I also remember Fizzy Spangles in Cola, Orange and Lemon. I didn't like Old English Flavour.
I remember Smiths Crisps have a Flavour called Savoury Vinegar flavour.
Why is it something you like, they decide to discontinue. They say due to poor sales.
I must have bad taste.
Ahhh glad someone remembered those bubblegums, Catatonia. What a horrible person that girl was to purposely thread it into someone's hair, lol! And how awful it had to be cut off. My mum did manage to comb most out of my hair, took hours though - she was a bit sadistic, probably enjoyed punishing me lol. But yes, some still had to be cut out at the sides. It was probably made from ingredients banned today!
Yodak, I clearly remember the pink panther bars, they made my throat feel wheezy, like Treetops orange squash did. Gawd only knows what hideous additives those contained!
It took me right back to Millbrook, Southampton in the Summer of '69. ( That's a good title for a song..doh!)
