How will TROB - etc deal with far right extremism if they manage to contrive to cheat the people?

Nothing will shake the Brussels elite to the core bar a Magnitude 8 earthquake, Togo. They have presided over massive unrest - caused by their policies - in a number of countries in the past 5-10 years. If no agreement on A50 extension is reached (assuming it is sought) it will not bother the EU. By then Mrs May's deal will have been rejected (if not no extension need be sought) and they know, thanks to our MPs, that we have no intention of leaving without a deal. The country has effectively capitulated because our departure was "negotiated" by people who had no intention of seeing us leave. We have been told effectively "You can leave on these [totally unsatisfactory] terms or not leave at all." And we have swallowed it.

Totally agree once again Judge. They preside in their ivory tower,(Tower of Babel more like) and whilst isolated in careless disillusionment fail to notice the real and present danger that is gradually about to engulf them.

Like the majority I voted leave, no back stop, no hidden agenda just walk. What part of leave do our politicians no understand ?

It's not so much wanting it, Jim, it's more the only acceptable option left now the EU has refused to come up with a decent agreement, and May feels an anti-Brexit agreement is the one thing she's willing to push for. No one with any bit of self respect can support a roll over and submission to those determined to be awkward and control us.

Perhaps the politicians are more aware of the practical difficulties of "just walking away" than you are. OG goes on like it's the only acceptable option but hasn't given even the faintest indication of how to deal with all the necessary consequences of just getting rid of a whole host of rules and having nothing to replace them with.

If we no indeed end up leaving with No Deal, then I sincerely hope that I am utterly wrong about what the consequences will be. But it's almost as likely that I'm being hopelessly optimistic.

Yes they have, Jim. That's why the proposal is to subsume all current EU legislation into UK law and then decide at our leisure which to retain and which to ditch. There are solutions to most of the problems that have been foreseen and those that have not can be dealt with as and when they arise. It's called managing change and businesses do it all the time.

OG isn't "they", and he's clearly relying on a good deal of luck and what might best be described as blind faith. To think that it's possible organise all of what you are proposing inside a couple of months is frankly madness.

Practical issues, should they arise, are what politicians are paid to deal with, not to use as an excuse not to bother. They've had about two years to anticipate issues, the rest are dealt with as they arise. One doesn't fail to act out of fear of being incapable of being up to the task.
