Bargain Hunt History

A few years back, Bargain Hunt used to visit an auction house in the north-ish of England, run by a bloke who was very lively, very popular with the room, but they haven't been to his place for years.

He was 40s or 50s, glasses, greyish dark hair, clean-shaven except I think he had longish sideburns, tallish, slimish, called a spade a spade (but not a Yorkshireman), not a strong Northern accent, more RP than ee-by-gum if you excuse the cliche. No 'side' to him. just a straight-talking man.

Any ideas who he was, and why the Beeb seem to have dropped his place from their circuit?

Colin Young was in Lincolnshire.Also they no longer visit Rupert Toovey in Sussex.Watched it today and it was one with Tim Wonnacott presenting how much better he was at presenting than the vast majority of the usual experts they use, they know their business but can't present the programme.If it were down to me I would offer to Christina Trevanion she seems quite relaxed and natural when doing it.

Charles Hansen had Cancer a while back, he was off screen for a while but did return, i do hope his illness hasn't returned i really like him.
