So all those that are unfortunate enough to be married ;0P what song did you play for your first dance??

My fella and i always debate about this (incase we do get hitched in the future!)... orginally i wanted "Lets Stay Together" by Al Green - but kinda realised just about every other couple played that so it was too unoriginal - although the lyrics are absolutely perfect for any happy couple.

(Al Green - Let's Stay Together Lyrics

I, I'm so in love with you
Whatever you want to do
Is all right with me
'Cause you make me feel so brand new
And I want to spend my life with you

Since, since we've been together
Loving you forever
Is what I need
Let me be the one you come running to
I'll never be untrue

Let's, let's stay together
Lovin' you whether, whether
Times are good or bad, happy or sad

Whether times are good or bad, happy or sad

Why, why some people break up
Then turn around and make up
I just can't see
You'd never do that to me (would you, baby)
Staying around you is all I see
(Here's what I want us to do)

[Repeat to fade:]
Let's, we oughta stay together
Loving you whether, whether
Times are good or bad, happy or sad)

If you're not married but have plans for the future what song would you want to be played for your first dance?

Gill, I love that song but as it was a song that I had with my ex I don't think it would be very appropriate!!! It is a wonderful song though!!!!
Shotgun Wedding
When we got married my OH didn't want a first dance, so we weren't going to have one. Then he decided on the day that he did, so the DJ picked our song. To this day, I have no idea what it was. When I watch the DVD back I remember, but as soon as it's finished, I don't know what it was again.

I wanted Come What May from Moulin Rouge, but didn't get it.

Never knew I could feel like this
Like I've never seen the sky before
I want to vanish inside your kiss
Every day i'm loving you more than this
Listen to my heart, can you hear it sings
Telling me to give you everything
Seasons may change, winter to spring
But I love you until the end of time

Chorus:
Come what may
Come what may
I will love you until my dying day

Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place
Suddenly it moves with such a perfect grace
Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste
It all revolves around you
And there's no mountain too high
No river too wide
Sing out this song I'll be there by your side
Storm clouds may gather
And stars may collide
But I love you until the end of time

Chorus.

Lovely.

arrgggh gill!! Got that song in my head now!!

(brilliant song though!)
Supernick, something like Parisienne Walkways?
my girlfriend once went to a wedding where the song for the first dance was 'still haven't found what i'm looking for' by U2...

erm...

something's not right about that, surely?
I have been to several weddings where the DJ has played 'Band of Gold' by Freda Payne.

Blimey..don't they ever listen to those lyrics?
I'd like something that the future Mr Doll and myself could make up a silly dance to rather than do the traditional loved up thing. We'd do the loved up thing afterwards but I'd want to suprise the guests and make them laugh too...

Does that sound weird? Should I get my coat?

(BTW, current one I like on here is Gills)
Great one, China ~ my sister did that. Instead of waiting until later on, both her & her new hubby danced to 'Wig Wam Bam' ..complete with actions :o)
LFAO... exactly Pippa, it'd have to be done... it's a kodak moment if nothing else! I'll put my coat down... ;0)
We had 'From This Moment On' by Shania Twain.
My GF & I are getting married in October - she doesn't yet know what song will be our first together, as being the romantic kind of guy i am, i decided it was for me to decide and try to try tell her exactly how i feel about her - so i've chosen Brian Adams - I'm Ready. - Hope it goes down ok!!
i love come what may, but i would have Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton.

It's late in the evening; she's wondering what clothes to wear.
She puts on her make-up and brushes her long blonde hair.
And then she asks me, "Do I look all right?"
And I say, "Yes, you look wonderful tonight."

We go a party and everyone turns to see
This beautiful lady that's walking around with me.
And then she asks me, "Do you feel all right?"
And I say, "Yes, I feel wonderful tonight."

I feel wonderful because I see
The love light in your eyes.
And the wonder of it all
Is that you just don't realize how much I love you.

It's time to go home now and I've got an aching head,
So I give her the car keys and she helps me to bed.
And then I tell her, as I turn out the light,
I say, "My darling, you were wonderful tonight.
Oh my darling, you were wonderful tonight."

i went to a wedding in june where the bride and groom walked to the dance floor for the 1st dance, when the music started playing, the groom looked bewildered as blasting over the speakers was .... black eyed peas-My humps, my humps, my lovely lady lumps. The groom loved it, the bride had great fun shaking her booty and we all thought it was the best first dance we'd ever seen!!!!
yet to be discussed with the future Mrs M, but I will never forget my friend having Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit!

The DJ really struggled to get his head round the concept and offered a half hearted apology in advance " to all the mums and grans who might not know this one.....". Cue one stonking guitar intro, one moshing bride and groom, followed by a dancefloor invasion - class!!!
