Anyone else read it? Based on a true story, the result of the author’s interviews with the main character. Poorly constructed and such a wasted opportunity for a writer. A huge disappointment.

the boy in the striped pyjamas was shown on BBC2 at the beginning of the week or last weekend perhaps. Very sad.

JJ, it is very sad.

Bobbi, I agree. The film came nowhere near the book especially at the end when I think it failed to portray the commander’s reaction to the stark realisation of his actions. He was utterly devastated.
