on demand.
Don't know has anyone else mentioned it. More important than anything else, imo.
They have vowed to decriminalise abortion which will lead to abortion on demand for any reason up to full term. (If I understand it properly. Admittedly, I haven't fully looked into it yet)
It was the Governor, the Lieutenant Governor and the Attorney General (all Democrats) involved and if all three resigned, the Speaker of the State's House of Delegates would have become Governor.
As the Speaker is a Republican, the calls from Democrats for resignations and impeachment died down, somewhat.

Sorry, I don't get your issue - or your logic for that matter. You seem to be looking for a problem that isn't there.
"Would the provisions of the Abortion Act not apply still?"
My understanding from what I've read is that the act limits the time one may seek an abortion. But if it ceases to be a criminal act to get one afterwards, then what's the point ? But I'd leave that to the judges, no doubt they'll have a strange view on it.
