Call From The Police.
33 Answers
I had a phone call from a police officer this morning who said a neighbour had reported me for showing my naked backside at the window of my house. I denied this and the officer said 'what if I told you there was video evidence? I again denied it. He then said I was naked in my front garden which is definately untrue and never happened. He then said 'don't do anything' and he would be in touch. I cannot afford a criminal record as it would cost me my job. Any advice?

If you had a lack of toilet paper when performing your regrettable act I'd guess they have the dirt on you

Did your neighbour happen to see your bare bum as you were going about your normal, every day activities (just out of bed, getting dressed, just out of shower etc) or were you deliberately trying to offend or provoke a reaction by deliberately exposing your behind at your window knowing your neighbour was watching?
There is a big difference between the two.
Is there history between you and your neighbour?

Why not phone your local station and ask them to confirm if it was a genuine call.
If you get another call, then tell them you will call them - on a number that is publicly available not one they give you. After you hang up and before you call them, make sure you have a dialling tone, or dial a different number first (effectively the same process as if you had a suspicious bank call.)

If someone phones me claiming to be from a particular company etc., I always ask them to prove it. For instance, a guy phoned me claiming to be from British Gas. I asked him to prove it. He said he could if I provided my security password. Eh?! Hang on! It should work the other way round shouldn't it? You tell me what password is on my account, and I'll tell you if it's correct. If I phone your company, I will tell you what my password is. It's clear that many companys' don't expect this response from people because they have to hang up when challenged. A genuine police officer will tell you what his service number is.
