Got the cool/hot box warming. Going to the local chippy, then drive to one of the millstone edges, probably Burbage. Scoff them and have a nice evening walk. The high life, eh?
About £6.50 for a small cod and chips here in Norfolk, picked onions are now 30p. Was reminiscing with my sister about visiting me grandma in Wakefield when you went to the chippy and just asked for fish and chips - there was no 'cod' or 'plaice' you got what you were given.
Unsureme @ 22.23.
Soz, fell asleep and just woken up. I'm 71 so you will remember a lot more of Wallsend in the 50s than me. There was a chippy also called the Elite on the Coast Road, just before High Farm. It was the nearest one to us when we lived there.
Hello melv.....get yourself to Specsavers, it's you that's on Pubwatch, not me, and I wouldn't be seen dead in Woodseats. The twins are 6 now melv. Isn't it about time you paid some child support?
Not keen on cod, haddock for us every time which on its own is usually £5 then we have a small portion of chips between us. If we’re at home I usually have a portion of mushy peas in the freezer and the cheap curry sauce which Sainsbury’s sell in large bottles is great if you like it. I freeze the remainder of the jar for next time.
Someone gave me the tip that if you wrap the chips back up they can be reheated the next day successfully in the microwave.
