yep you've guessed it, more devolution. Many many more layers of politicians and officials bloating the public sector, bossing us about at every level. Gawd elp us, that's all we need! As TGL once said, the state should be as small as possible, looks like Steer Calmer has other ideas. Madness?

untitled, //oh dear one whole paragraph is too long-winded is it? I suggest you read more.// A whole paragraph of obfuscating, insulting rubbish is more than enough. You know what? I'm getting sick of listening to little pip squeaks who neither they or their families have made any contribution to it playing fast & loose with British sovereignty, many of whom...

untitled; " I care deeply about this country and its values" - so much so in fact that you want us to be subjugated by un elected bureaucrats in the EUSSR! right oh !
“ but i am british and proud to be so..”

I’m surprised you bothered to answer that. I certainly wouldn’t.
Trade deals need not place limits on sovereignty. It a different situation to agree something specific, voluntarily, at the time, compared to agreeing to be dictated to and obliged to comply every time the other party decides something in the future. The problem with the EU was always with the federal control, not the trade related agreements, as a general rule. Trade agreements should be revisitable too, should some immoral, unacceptable "gotcha" be uncovered afterwards. Agreements should be accepted mutually by all the parties concerned.
"One simple question: How British are you?"

Do we need to give links to wir family trees now?
Trade deals are about much more than the price of fish and can, and will, mean lots of things that will get the sovereignty crowd up in arms.

Such as increased immigration.

For instance "India’s government has made it clear that it will be in no rush to reach a trade deal with the UK without significant concessions on movement of people."

Why were you until recent times using the Ukrainian flag as your avatar?
jim; //Anyhow, the UK/Japan Trade Deal runs to around 1000 pages. It's an agreement to work together. If you work together then you are ceding at least some level of sovereignty, clearly, because that means allowing the other nation to have some say and some influence in the decisions you make.//

This is complete nonsense, if British businessman, Mr Smith wants to trade with Japanese businessman, Mr Watanabe, the subject of their discussion is a deal in trade, no form of sovereignty is in anyway involved.
Whether they are allowed to trade is in part regulated by the Governments of the two countries. The tariffs applied are regulated by the two countries. Rules that ease tariffs are set when the two countries agree (and then they have to agree on what those rules are). Businesses anyway are obliged to operate within the laws of their countries. (Whether they actually do in practice is beside the pount; they are, at least, supposed to).

So of course sovereignty is involved, and of course, therefore, you are entirely wrong. The very reason a trade deal existed and was seen as necessary shows how mistaken you are.
Trade agreements struck between countries are always political, especially if one party is more powerful than the other. It is astounding that Brexiters refuse to believe in such an obvious truth - just admit that you got it wrong and misunderstood the modern world and perhaps we can begin to fix this ghastly mess.
archibaldy has given an excellent example... and india is far far from being unique.
Have you given up trying to bring this back to devolution then Tora?
I did try :-)
Plainly you find other things more fun :-)
That is why independence is the answer, no more subsidy from The UK parliament. In fact I don't understand why England wants to keep the Union, think of all the money to be saved.I have never heard a really good reason for keeping the Union. Cartesian
