I cannot believe that you are naive enough to think that terrorism is about religion - and the notion is to spread Islam by violence.
Seriously?
You think the terrorists who bombed the Manchester Arena were doing it as a recruitment drive?
These people are nothing to do with Islam, either promoting it, or condemning it.
They use Islam as a convenient peg to hang their murderous obsessions on, but if you honestly believe that any terrorist is actually interested in furthering their 'faith', then you'd have to agree that they have a seriously counter-productive way of going about it!!

Christianity in many places did spread by conquest violence and genocide how do you think latin america became catholic? It wasn’t before the spaniards arrived! In europe the christians had a ready made empire in their hands when the emperor converted. I do not think they were shy about using force to convert people there either but they were already in power and did not need to conquer (yet).
They got spread by mixing them with oil and putting them on bread slices then posting the bread slices to various counties letting folk pick one or the other.

When it comes to the question of origin, people of different religions think of names such as Muḥammad, the Buddha, Confucius, and Jesus. In almost every religion, we can find a central figure to whom credit is given for establishing the ‘true faith.’ Some of these were iconoclastic reformers. Others were moralistic philosophers. Still others were selfless folk heroes. Many of them have left behind writings or sayings that formed the basis of a new religion. In time what they said and did was elaborated, embellished, and given a mystic aura. Some of these leaders were even deified.
It was at place call Babel that men, in defiance of Jehovah, decided to make a celebrated name for themselves by building a city with a religious tower. This was an apostasy, a falling away from the worship of Noah’s God, a rebellion against Jehovah’s sovereignty. But their building program resulted in dismal failure.
Because Jehovah came down and confused their language. No longer able to communicate with one another, they divided off according to language groups and were scattered from Babel “over all the surface of the earth.” (Gen. 10:8-10; 11:1-9)
So see all their false religion went with them. It became a world empire of false religion, mystic now call “Babylon the Great.”
