Yep have to agree with tiggeralix, I speak from experience too - defo a gun. I was told that it felt like someone punching you in the nose, so I was a bit nervous, but it doesnt!
've had mine in over 5 yrs now, and i love it - but i only wear a tiny tiny stud, infact not many people notice it at all. Its like a tiny little bit of glitter that twickles in the light :)

i must disagree with the above to answers - all peircings should be done with a needle - if only for hygiene reasons, guns are famously dirty and you run a much higher chance of infection.
i would seriously recommend that your sister avoids the cheap option of having a badly trained person shoot dirty metal through her nose and pay a bit more to see a professional who will use a needle.
if you google peircings + needle or gun you will get loads more info

If it is done properly by a qualified person then there is no reason at all that the gun would be 'dirty' ,if you go to anyone who isnt hygienic then it wouldnt matter if it was gun or needle cos they could both be dirty,a gun, shot through the nose by a trained person will be exactly as tiggeralix says,a quick click with watery eyes is all you will have,i had mine done 14 years ago with a gun and have had no problems at all,its quick, easy and clean!
Needle does'nt hurt any more than gun either I have had both done due to the collapse I had to have it cut out of my nose (the stud that is) then let it heal then had the other side pierced with a needle. Every piercing I have had done with a needle which is quite a few has stayed in and never had any trouble with them - the three I had with a gun all went bad
Apart from my ex you mean?Yeah,my nose was done with a gun and had no probs, that was years ago,had both sides done the same way,my ears were done by needle, worst thing in the world,we still do our piercings by gun unless asked otherwise, never had no complaints, you will get the unlucky one but we have never had no complaints!
I didn't think that piercers would do nose or ear piercing with guns anymore? That's what the guy said to me when he did mine. Apparently it's because even though the stud is new every time, tiny drops of blood could possibly be on the end or sides of the gun because it's not possible to sterilise the gun properly in an autoclave. In fact, I think the only places that will do it are hairdressers or *****'* Accessories. Go to a proper licensed piercer, they're in the Yellow Pages!
