I watched the rugby today rather than watch it after the football.

England vFrance best game at Twickenham for a long time.
A very good game....and that's independent of the result.....good to see such relatively open rugby and no penalties every five minutes.....
thanks to the the off-field (female) ref for awarding Chris Itoje his try too! (Though it was clearly a try). I shall now enjoy a celebratory glass of red wine with my lamb chops!
Chris?

Good match. If you want to see creative rugby played at speed watch some of the New Zealand Super Rugby Aotearoa matches.
Good job for Wales it was Wayne Barnes refereeing today. If it had been Matthew(red card) Carley
Dan Biggar would have gone.
Don't think it would have made much difference....

è stato un puro omicidio a Roma questo pomeriggio.
I was just making the point that Wayne Barnes knows what he’s doing and Carley is becoming the Mike Dean of Rugby.
I guess referees need the experience too, Carley was, apparently, mortified when he saw the replays after the match - but too late! No wonder he was running the line in Italy today.
Really good game to watch. I would've even taken the defeat, after that Wales debacle, but was glad to see the Itoje try awarded ...
It was a pleasant change to watch England play and the ref not be the most "influential" man on the pitch. It was a good game not spoiled by an agenda. Biggar would have gone in any other game ... certainly with a different ref. There is no consistency of interpretation of the rules. We all wanted var and the slomo playback, but it is crippling the game. Not just rugger either. The only game to have benefitted from the review is cricket as far as I can see.
Agree Ellipsis, I e-mailed a close friend at halftime to say, 'I can accept the score as it's a really good game.' To me, Tom Curry should have been MoM.....
Yep, he had a 9/10 performance ...
