in the late 70s most, even the Tories in her cabinet, thought that the rot could not be stopped that all they could do was manage a slide into a Soviet Bloc outpost. She showed us that we could save ourselves, smash the communist and union firebrands into dust. Drag the country up by the scruff of the neck. Yes the medicine was harsh but the patient needed it. She did not turn away from the task and finally helped bring down the Soviet union in little over a decade. Have your sneering anti Britishness if you must but she saved even you that hate her for it. Forgive them Maggie for they know not what they do.
Tora - //Have your sneering anti Britishness if you must but she saved even you that hate her for it.//
Oh look he's rolling out the usual, tired old "anti-British" BS again. Put a sock in it Tora, to dislike a former PM isn't anti-British, it's just my opinion. You using the same old description for anybody who disagrees with you just shows the lack of originality in your arguments.

mozz: "I did say that was intended as a joke Tora, but don't be afraid to cherry pick at things in order to maximise your disgust." - what have I cheery picked?
"To dislike a former PM isn't anti-British, it's just my opinion." - no problem with that but comparing her with the Nazis is a bit strong. Hate her if you must but I hope that under the waves of lefty indoctrination there is a grudging respect for her achievements. St Tony was a great admirer you know.
