For me it’s a quiet drink with friends in a relaxed atmosphere,if I want food I’d go to a restaurant, now it’s where people go to eat pub grub, with children gunning around screeching , I think thd traditional pub as we knew it has sadly gone forever, mind you there’s one beside us , he’s not a tenant , he’s a free house, Cody with a log fire in the Winter so well named the Travellers Rest

Absolutely hate pubs with TVs.

But TVs and vaping? No way
I miss having a ciggie whilst enjoying a drink.
I miss being able to sit outside and have a ciggie without being glared at!
I like a pub that does food but has a drinking area too
On thinking about it, we. Never go to a .pub for a drink. We go to eat or meet friends and eat. And rarely have alcohol. I don't drink and OH drives and our favourite places are miles away. Going out for a drink just hadn't happened for years.

My son at about 4 said he liked our house because it looks like a pub!! He's a real ale lover!
And we rarely drink at home and even when we do it's wine with a meal or for him the odd lager. I stick to black tea or tap water.

I enjoy a glass of red with a meal and I’ll have a GG at home at weekends ( well documented here ;0)))
Just had a call from old friends in Hertfordshire. Going out to pub on Wednesday for a meal. Our first social outing since Bathroom floor night!!
Nice to see you back Red x
"imagine a football match when the pub is packed and people sitting vaping, you’d never see the screen"
Good ..hate TVs in pubs and hate bleedin' football so ppppplp!
...and another thing I like in (or rather outside) pubs: morris dancing.
^^^^^^^^^^^and what are your favourite drinks? :o)
children in pubs has always been a problem lots of pubs i know dont allow under 18 at the bar and they have rooms for over 18 so you can get some peace if someone has an annoying kid aint nothing to do with the fact the venue sells food i personally love food and expect every pub to have some kind of menu
A free house serving real ale by pump from a good cellar

Decent sandwiches and snacks

Clean

Quiet, apart from the noise of people talking

Log fire for the winter, lovely garden for the summer

Friendly staff and a good pub dog

A no nonsense landlord

Well priced
Sounds good to me Elipsis. But they have to let dogs in too and our favourite pub had two cats as well. I so miss that pub, which has now changed hands and lost it atmosphere.
And definitely no football!
A clean glass!
My local is nice. They have a restaurant and also serve food at the bar tables. It is warm with a log fire and soft comfy chairs, soft music is playing, pets are allowed in and it is a pleasant relaxing atmosphere.
I rarely go pubbing but there is a nice pub at the end of my road and I've eaten there with little Tigs and whoever comes to visit us, 3 times since moving to the area. It's family and dog friendly too and food is decent.
As I am not a snob, my local 'Spoons is good enough for me.

Don't tend to get hordes of kids (One on the key is kids downstairs adults only upstairs), cheap pub grub is available but its not like a restaurant and Tim doesn't like loud music blaring.

Aunt PG ..real ales or any beer above 5% that isn't so hoppy it smells like skunkweed!
