Tory councillor accused of crushing wife to death after ‘row over Brexit’

That was the headline. But the fact that he had been a Tory councillor, and had a row whether to watch a Brexit TV programme are both minor (and virtually irrelevant) details - but presumably the Editor of the Telegraph decided to spice it up.

Very irresponsible journalism IMHO, more akin to the Sun or Mirror.

Also very distasteful in such a tragic case. And the thin edge of the wedge leading to fake news.

The headline is the one in the Telegraph and he wasn't even a Councillor at the time.

Seems like a reasonable headline and report to me, based on the court testimony.

Was the accident after rowing about brexit or was it after a row about watching a programme about Brexit followed by another argument about whether to watch Top Chef or nurses in India resulting in his going to his office, her going to bed and then going downstair after midnight and the row resuming?

He was no longer a Tory Councillor and the "Brexit" dispute was only one link in a chain of events so how is the headline accurate?
