yesterday, I started a job in a pub near me. unfortunately, I'd spent the day in a&e and wasn't feeling 100% but didn't want to miss my first shift so went anyway. 90 minutes in, i got fired because I looked unwell - surely this isn't allowed? more so, i didn't get paid for the time I was there, short as it was. the pub pays cash in hand, under the minimum wage - can I report them for this?
already one step ahead, i'm just curious as to what steps can be taken - I turned down a couple of other jobs to take this one because they were so keen to take me on, i don't really want other people to suffer the same experience
