More information would provide an informed response - the age of the wearer and the conditions in which they would be worn is a good start.

They are needed for sleeping, the wearer is in their 60s

I used these wax earplugs from Boots,when I lived noisy London.They are very effective,and can be used several times.You just warm them with your hand,mould them to shape,and pop them in your ears.

Being a reasonable price,I can certainly recommend them.
