Answerbank Slow To Load. Any Chance Of Speeding It Up?

you're not wrong. I think you'll find underinvestment in hamsters is to blame.

It was even worse yesterday - I was timed out twice because 'Answerbank is too slow to respond'! Today it's just been slow slow - sometimes taking a good minute or two to get from a Latest Post to actually loading the page. And when I tried to answer a crossword clue, it took a while for the page to come up.

It's possibly a 'bad neighbour' problem. 

i.e. The AnswerBank is likely to be hosted on the same server as several other sites.  If one of those sites is badly configured (or possibly under a 'denial of service' attack from somewhere), every other site on the server will be slowed down too.  Such a problem would be beyond AB's direct control.
