"Tokoloshe Man" by John Kongos was bought for me when I was 7 (1971). The first records I actually bought myself were "Status Quo LIve" and "Pretty Vacant" from Woolworths in Skegness in 1977.
'Actually' by Pet Shop Boys on cassette, in 1988 in Woolworths.

I still have it, and listen to it (on CD).
"Back Home" England world cup squad 1970. I bought the album as well.
I love serendipity1 for admitting to David Soul and being a Numanoid in the same post.

Gawd bless yer.

I'm not taking the mick - I had Cars by Mr Numan and still think it's a corking song.
' I Feel Love ' on 7" vinyl ~ Donna Summer. 1977. I'd be around 14.
I swapped a Dinky Lorry for the Sweets - Blockbuster which i thought was the best cos of the sirens in it and then i went and sat on it and cracked it and now the B side has Magic Roundabout sellotape holding it together but it (the A side) still plays fine! By the way i was about 7 at the time just incase you were thinking all my transactions were done involving Dinky or Corgi cars!
Oh my word!
I think it was either Kylie Minogue or Brother Beyond on cassette. I'm an 80's child, I can't apologise.
Think I must have been about 10 years old.

I wish I could say my musical tastes had improved but I still love my cheese.
I think it was a kylie minogue album on casette from Woolworths, i was about 9 i think! Oh the shame! hahaha
First record I bought was for my mum's b'day - Rene and Ronatta's 'Save Your Love for Me'. The first single I bought for myself was Do the Bartman. There was an acapella version on the CD, so I sampled it and made my own version .. I am sad, I know. First album was Doolittle by the Pixies... oo, no that was when I started getting into music properly. The first album I ever bought was in fact Sugar Tax by OMD. I loved Pandora's Box and Seven Seas....

Mine was Jailhouse Rock by Elvis at the time he made good records. It was one of the old 78 rpm shellac records and I dropped it and broke it on the way home. Can't have been more than seven or eight. With tears in my eyes I took it back, asked if it could be mended, and the nice man in the shop - Dancy's Records in Edmonton - gave me a new one. It's still in the loft, nothing to play it on, but you don't get rid of your rites of passage, do you?
Young Parisians by Adam And The Ants.
I was about 9ish.Still got the 7inch today and in quite good nick
