the climate change protests weren't labelled as far left were they? No doubt there are some thug u like yobs in there but they will be left and right.
mozz:"Maybe they think we can by inspiring other countries to follow our lead. Better to a small part of the answer than a larger part of the problem." - really? you lefties are always telling me what a decaying dying nation we are, why would anyone be inspired by us? The only nations who can make a difference are not going to. Nothing the rest of us do matters.
I'll be interested to see an example of me saying we are "a decaying nation" or words to that effect. I think you're mistaking me for some of our more radical lefties.
The UK has been at the forefront of many positive changes and innovations over the years. There's no reason why we shouldn't still be a source of inspiration to others. God knows, this world needs it right now. Everything seems to be completely FUBAR at the moment.
"10:20 - Maybe they think we can by inspiring other countries to follow our lead."
Then they are deluded. Over the last decade or so the UK has spent billions of pounds "decarbonising" its energy production. Even so, last week there were times when wind and solar (the two principle consumers of such "investment") were producing less than 7% of requirements placed on the National Grid (it was dark and there was next to no wind). What country is going to "inspired" to follow that lead when the outcome is plainly so indequate to meet demand?
People who are concerned about the country's energy security and see Ed Miliband charged with ensuring it is met are not "Far Right". They are simply people who don't relish the idea of being left in the cold and dark on a night when the wind doesn't blow.
However, we digress.
