If it's truly a small dent with no peeled or broken paint try this; get a double handful of ice cubes and wrap them in a towel. Take an ordinary heat lamp and heat the dented area for several minutes. Be sure to not hold the lamp to close to the painted surface so as to scorch it, but close enough that it gets as hot as a bright summer day at noontime. Then apply the ice to the surface. Assure the towel isn't too thick since you want it to be as cold as possible. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but can't hurt, no?

thanks clanad,
i will certainly try it,
what have i got to lose, thanks again
mike.
mmm above answer interesting but when you dent metal you actually stretch it ,so you really cant just pop it back, thats why bodyworkers heat it and shrink it back by beating it with hammer and flipper to take stretch back out, laborious work ,hence high cost (clanards ans valid to a point) if dent is small ie coin size refer to any haynes manual it gives a good photograpic step by step guide to small repairs, and will give you a good result.hope this helps.

thank you taffi sounds a bit to much for me to deal with think ill save up and let the profesionals deal with it.
If you want a professional job, get a professional to do it or the dent will haunt you forever.

hi try your local paper or yellow pages for *smart repairs* or a company called *dent devil* they can remove a dent without painting as long as the paint work isn't damaged,

will certainly have a look.
Try Halfords if you've got one near you, they have a deal with a Company who do a service called 'Shine'. They repair dents, scratches, alloy wheel damage etc, for a fraction of the price of a bodyshop place, and they come out to your home.
