"His death is a serious blow for Hamas, the organisation he turned into a fighting force that inflicted the biggest defeat on the state of Israel in its history. "

It wasn't fight it was a slaughter of civilians. How can the nation of a terror attrocity be said to have been "defeated"?

Was the USA defeated after 9/11

Spain After Madrid?

UK after 7/7?

Looks like the beeb has its own cabal of terrorist apologists.

It is all part of the carefuly administered psychological leverage employed by the left wing propagandists, that are now embedded into what was once our National Broadcaster. The malign organisation ceased to be a news and useful information supplier many years ago and has morphed into a propaganda outlet for the...

Far-right Yamina party lawmaker Ayelet Shaked's remarks urging the killing of all Palestinians resurfaced on Twitter after a post by The Empire Files on Sunday.

18:21 bang on, I was considering it for BA when I read this from mozz: "My word, you talk some 💩 Togo." ... that was the clincher, you rumbled the lefty propaganda wing.

// didnt 1973 start with a er surprise defensive attack - Egyptian air force destroyed ? //

No, it didn’t.  That was the six-day war in 1967.  The 1973 Yom Kippur war began when the Egyptian army crossed the Suez Canal and destroyed the Israeli defences with water cannons.  At the same time the Syrian army advanced into the Golan Heights. The Egyptians then established a bridgehead and were able to repel Israeli attacks using anti-tank weapons and surface-to-air missiles supplied by the Soviet Union.

Although the Arab coalition subsequently lost the war, it could be argued that Israel suffered its biggest defeat during the first few days.  After the war the Israeli Prime Minister, Golda Meir, resigned, together with the rest of her cabinet. There then followed the Camp David accords, the Egyptian-Israel peace treaty, and the ceding of the Sinai Peninsula to Egypt.  The initial successes in the Yom Kippur war are still celebrated in Syria and Egypt today.

No World Cup though eh, eh? 🙄

9:36 The fact you agree with him Tora, just goes to confirm my opinion that what Togo said was utter manure.

yes - sozza about that one. I used to agonise about accuracy and then I found no one on AB carred a tinkers curse about accuracy and let my mind float free.

More Freedom in Gaza - 40 ooo dead and counting and that is a helluva lorra freedom to give someone ! Hoorah for the IDF !

( that last bit shd keep the mods mimsy fingers off this post)

yeah 1979 - we gave the labourers the afternoon off ( Aswan) so they cd listen to Sadat's speech to the Egyptian Parliament. It was four hours or more - same as  Palmerston's speech to the House, Civis romanus sum  ( 6h).

I often wondered, back in the day, if camp David was the best person to be dealing with hard line Middle Eastern zealots.
