I think the nation has woken up to the error it has made.

At this rate it will be 2 million signatures by tomorrow 😳

I bet most of them now regret voting for Labour

//At this rate it will be 2 million signatures by tomorrow//

And what will happen then ?

@23.01...

Kneeler might stop counting his AirMiles and pay some attention...😝

Suck it up Tora, you have four years of this.

"I bet most of them now regret voting for Labour"

I bet most of them voted for the Cons or Nigel's lot.

indeed mozz. unless the petition matches or exceeds votes cast for labour in the GE then this isn't going to mean anything to anyone

i am quite amused that so many people who spent the last 15 years sneering at activism and protest now find themselves in conflict with a government they oppose and have absolutely no idea how to do so effectively.

9.7m people voted Labour. I wonder if this petition will get more support

more people voted tory + reform so if every last one if them all signed it then... it would still be absolutely useless lol

" it would still be absolutely useless lol"

I don't think it is absolutely useless, it sends a message to this current Gov, who has only been in office a very short time and already making a mess of it. The petition has certainly triggered a few on here and elsewhere.

//I bet most of them voted for the Cons or Nigel's lot//

I doubt it.  Look at the map.

What I find really interesting is that there was no mention of it at all on the BBC this morning.

and that's it in a nutshell pegasus. "triggering". a word that was old hat in 2015 and is still seen by some people as a daring and meaningful thing to do.

about 11 million people voted for reform or the tories. if every last one of them signed this petition then it would simply mean what we already know... that there are 11 million people who oppose labour.

it's not a message.

Bhg, I half expected the BBC to mention it.  Silly me.  😂

//It's not a message//

Look at the map.

It IS a message in that so many people feel sufficiently at odds with what Labour is doing to register their disapproval so soon. I don't think this has ever happened before.

It's not about protesting Labour's win it's about protesting their actions which they never signalled in their manifesto.

Neither do I, Dave.  I don't think there's ever been such disappointment with any government so soon after an election.

i have looked at it. do you think a few tories and reform uk voters in areas that returned labour mps is news to anyone?

Ahh, that'll be it then - whereas my area - staunch Conservative - is not deep cherry red but a pretty shade of scarlet.  Weird innit.  🙃

well i thought your point naomi was that it was getting signatures in some labour areas. if it's picking up in tory ones then that's even less surprising! 🤣
