Where Was I? Somewhere On The East Coast...

I have completely forgotten the six digit code to get past the Lock Screen of my iPhone and am now locked out.
is there a way to reset it without the need to use iTunes? All my family use Windows and don't want to have to use iTunes.
Could/would the local Apple Store or independent phone repair shop help? What proof of purchase would they need?
Thanks!

Use Face ID or Touch ID (If Enabled)
If Face ID or Touch ID was set up before forgetting the passcode, the person can try unlocking the device using their face or fingerprint.
Try Again Later
If too many incorrect attempts have been made, the iPhone will display a message like "iPhone is Disabled. Try Again in X minutes."
After 10 failed attempts, the device will either lock completely or erase itself if "Erase Data" was enabled in settings.
Erase and Restore the iPhone using "Find My iPhone" (iCloud)
If Find My iPhone is enabled:
Go to iCloud.com on another device.
Sign in with the Apple ID linked to the iPhone.
Select Find iPhone > Choose the locked device.
Click Erase iPhone to remove the passcode.
