Ford fiesta stalling

I drove my fiesta yesterday for 40miles in stop start traffic with no problems - then when i pulled of the motorway it started stalling..i parked it up overnight and then first thing this morning it kept stalling but after driving on the motorway back home for another 40miles it was fine - do i need to take it to the garage and what could the problem be so they don't rip me of!!

it is really hard to say what the problem might be it could be anything. but the way it sounds it is like it strugles to get fuel through to the engine now and again but as i said could be anything
