Rescuing syrup with mould on it
3 Answers
Some months ago I made some raspberry, blackberry & blackcurrant syrup. The nearly full bottle has developed a couple of patches of mould on the surface in the past week. I'm reluctant to waste it so have strained off the mould, reheated the syrup to boiling point in the microwave and rebottled in a clean bottle. Can any food hygienist tell me if I've done enough to rescue it?
