Best supermarket!

In your opinion, which is the best supermarket?
Asda? Morrisons? Waitrose? Sainsbury's? Tesco?
Why?

For me it is Tesco!
Good value, the store I shop at is huge and has everything under one roof, from white goods to a pharmacy!
I find Sainsburys slightly expensive,
I like Asda too, really cheap but I don't have a store near me.
If Asda opened a store in my area, then Tesco would not get a look in.

It depends what I'm looking for really.

I like Morrisons for the fresh deli and bread sections and overall good value and good own brands.

Asda and Tesco are good for a cheap shop whereas Sainsburys, although a bit pricey to shop regulary are great for special food and more luxury goodies.

Love the big Asdas which have all the homeware and such in as well.

I like Asda the best but Tesco and Morrissons are also good. I think they are all more or less on a par for value, depends what you're buying.

I shop mainly at Tesco, but that is because its the nearest. I love Sainsburys, their childrens clothes seem nicer than Tescos. So on balance if a Sainsburys were close I would us it!! Asda Wisbech - blergh!!!

They all have their plus points. When Asda was my nearest store I used to go there more than anywhere else, but would still go to Tesco or Sainsburys for the stuff Asda don't sell. Then I moved and Tesco was my nearest store but I would still go to Asda or Safeway for stuff that Asda didn't sell! Nowadays I usually go to Tesco or Asda, Sainsburys occasionally and my local Somerfield quite a bit. Mind you if there was a Waitrose anywhere near I would definitely shop there aswell!

I love Morrisons!!
But we dont have one in our town :(
So mostly use Asda, or Tescos!
Sainsburys have a great range of wheat free food, but as i dont stick to my diet anymore, im not paying 3 times as much for my food!

I use tescos the most but thats becasue they are the nearest. I love Waitrose cos it has lots of nice stuff thats a bit different but they are miles away so i either have to travel or shop on line. Sainsburys is nice but i don't like morrisons or asda maybe thats because the nearest of both of those to me are in dodgy areas. I think it depends largely on convenience

Waitrose for me everytime - 1st class in terms of service and the quality of food is un-beatable. Also helps that they we have a new town centre store - the staff are fantastic and you never have to wait more than one trolley/basket in the Q! I know my shop is more expensive, but only about �30 a month - and now shopping is a pleasure and i look forward to going.

If money's not important then Waitrose is absolute tops. Morrisons is the pits in my opinion. The rest are somewhere in the middle. The other huge advantage of Waitrose is that they are not massive great barns selling everything under the sun so you don't have to go on a route march if you only want a few items.

Depends which Waitrose, figi - ours is the biggest in town and is huge.

Tesco is also huge but despite its size seems to lack much choice - or at least doesn't stock what I want to buy. (It was recently enlarged and the choice, bizarrely, got worse). It's cheap, but only by pence and the drop in quality for those pence is for some things noticeable. They don't seem overly customer friendly. (eg a year or so ago they used to hide all the small trolleys well away from the entrance, presumably to discourage pensioners and other small shoppers. They then put up a notice saying 'we've listened to you, we've provided more small trolleys' Had they heck. They'd got rid of the lot and replaced them with slightly smaller large trolleys)

Sainsburys seem to have a reasonable balance of price/quality. I use them when I'm in the area.

Morrisons is the one I end up most of the time - it's nearest. It seems to provoke mixed views but I can't see much wrong with it.

Asda - no idea - too far. Lidl/Aldi are vastly overrated, full of unfamiliar brands that are no cheaper and no better than other own brands and zilch in the way of fresh foods worth buying.

I love Aldi - Great products, just because they are diferent people are scared to try them, been shopping there sice before xmas and i'm well impressed ! Tortilla kits, pasta, cheeeses, soups delicious, as good as hienz but nearly half the price, lambs shanks from aldi are coking in oven now, they are gorgeous, and the meat drops away ! Chantay carrots, squashes....wine.....fantastic ! I have to giggle when i see people snubbing aldi for the bigger supermarkets....!

Asda = Walmart evil. I have an Asda near me; it has a MacDonalds IN the store - disgusting. It's full of nasty cheap food. Their motto should be: Get fat on a budget.

In our town we have Tesco, Morrisons and Asda. Tesco is the closest to me so I do tend to go there more often. However, I love the curry counter in Asda and to there if I fancy one of those and also to check out the George range from time to time! I like Morrisons too, their BOGOF offers and the like tend to be better.

Finally I think Aldi is great, the qualify of their stuff I find is equal to the big brands but with prices equal to the supermarket budget brands! FAB!!

I agree with Daisy. The nearest asda to me is quite dirty and uncared for, I go in to check out the kids clothes but don't by the food.

Netto Tesco etc all have something to offer... it depends on how much time you have and how much cash you have.

I have a Morrisons a Tesco and a Sainbury's near me - so its Tesco for emergencies only - Sainsburys for a big shop and Morrisons for all their bargains = BOGOF's
