I would like to replace my old bathroom suite, and will need to pay a professional to carry out the work. Does anyone know what sort of price I should be paying as I have absolutely no idea. My bathroom is not very big (8ft x 8ft) and consists of a bath, basin, and toilet.I can do the tiling myself, but when it comes to plumbing I am completely lost.
If you strip the old tiles and all that is involved is removing the old and fitting the new, I would think about 300-400 would be about right. Its not just a straight swap, there would more than likely be a few replacement fittings involved. You may also have to make-good to the walls after removing the old tiles.
The above must be referring to the labour only - its 2 days work, and plumbers are one of the more expensive trades.
Get down to Homebase to see much much you pay for the suite - they've got a 10% off weekend running.
The cost will vary widely depending on your taste in fixtures, cabinets, etc. I think the number quoted above should be fairly accurate for labor if you are doing the demolition, tile work, painting, and clean up yourself.
