Husband has found someone else
22 Answers
I found out today my husband has been seeing someone else since at least before Christmas. He denied everything untill I hit him will the facts. He says he is not coming home but is happy for me to stay in our house for the time being. He will pay the mortgage and bills. He will pop round twice a week for his office and post and to see the dogs. This will be while I am work. He wants us to remain friends but doesn't have any feelings for me the way he did and that he has been unhappy for a long time. I am seeing a solicitor this week. I don't want to rock the boat but does it sound like he is keeping his options open or is it really over

You may remember me from your 'mid life crisis' posting...
I am so so sorry that my suspicions were correct..... I really hoped things would sort themselves out for you.
Now that you are 'fully armed' with the truth, make sure you get the best financial deal possible when talking to your solicitor. Don't let your feelings for him get in the way, you will only get one chance at this and it's best to grab what you can while he's riddled with guilt. Bear in mind this may be the only reward for the 40 years you have given him...
Please re-read the reply I posted on your other thread.
Also check to see if you have to sell your home... dig your heels in, why should you lose everything? Besides, it may take years to sell (especially if you've managed to train your doggies to mate with people's legs!!).
I'm sorry to sound so mercenary, but really need to get the message through to you before you see your solicitor tomorrow.
Please post on here to let us all know how it went....
I will post you tomorrow anyway, to give you some tea and sympathy, you really need some right now.
Chin up honey, big hug from me.
Good luck at solicitors,
xx

Went to solicitors today. She was very helpfull. It looks like it would likely be a 50-50 split taking into consideration all of the assets. She made some notes today and said that if I decide to go ahead, any money (big amounts) taken from his bank account from today would be looked into. I don't want to do anything hasty so have decided to sit on it while he is paying the mortgage. I know he won't do this forever but it will give me a bit of time to get my thoughts together. The solicitor said that I only have to ring the office and then take a few bits of paper into her and she would start the ball rolling as she already had details on file. It is a big step but one I can see myself taking. Thank you for your replies and advice.
