By the way, I don't agree that they are not popular any more!
4getmenot, there are 8 members plus a few extra musicians. Would you like me to name them all for you as well? If they aren't popular anymore, then why was their 2005 tour sold out? I'm not saying anyone has to agree with me that they're good as everyone is entitled to have their own opinions and taste but natalie asked the question - had anybody seen them live and were they good. All i did was answer her question. No need to put me to the test for god's sake.
Gessoo, i'm a member of the UB40 forum, would you like me to ask the other members how much they'd be willing to pay for the guitar? that way you might get a rough estimate of how much to set the reserve at.

Bless you, Shazbang. That would be great. It was the guitar Robin used on the Promises and Lies Tour, I believe in Australia.

I love Reggae by the way. I tried to get tickets for Blickling the day after as they went on sale, but they were gone. Mr G forgot to tell me they were at Blickling and had known for a while. Men!!!!

Wo Wo calm down shazbang I wasnt putting you to the test. My sis asked lastnight how many members there were and I didnt know so I thought seen as you'd seen them so many times I'd ask you for your knowledge. :-)And no-one has said they arent popular anymore I just answered to 'has anybody seen them live and are they good', and I just gave my opinion and Natalie took it in the way that it was meant. I did say I might be proved wrong this summer. :-)
I have to say that i loved UB40 and have seen them 4 times now and was considering seeing them at Bedgbury Forest in June but it is the day of an England World Cup game so i wont be attending! I have to say honestly that they are not (in my opinion) as good as they were . The last two times i have seen them they were disappointing not only were the sets really short about 50 Minutes but they left out most of the classic stuff which i think is what most people want to hear. It may however have just been at a bad night? I dont like their new stuff as much as their early stuff but maybe thats just me? I do think though that Signing Off is one of the best albums ever made and possibly one of the finest debut Albums evere made! I would go and see them and judge for yourself. Enjoy!

Gessoo I only got the tickets the day before yesterday - my dad lives in norwich and went and got two so there might be some left. I think Ticketmaster has some too.

Thanks for all of your answers - my music taste is so varied but reggae is something that, apart from local gigs and carnivals, you don't hear a lot of live. I really wanted to go see Damian Marley this year but the only gig with tickets available was the night of my wedding! Grrrrr.

Thanks again for your answers - I will let you know what I think once I have seen them - might even get a DVD to watch beforehand. x.

S'ok 4getmenot, it was just the way your question was worded and i took it up wrong.sounded like you didnt believe me or something. apologies for going on the defensive. Thats what happens when you aren't face to face with someone, you cant really tell what tone of voice they're using. :-)

Thanks so much Natalie. You're a honey. It might have been Thetford that was sold out. I get confused in my old age!

4 tickets are now booked. See you there!!!!

No worries shazbang :-)
Gessoo. had a word with some UB40 fans about your guitar but no-one was willing to name a price in case it was too much. I had a look on ebay and other signed guitars are fetching up to 800. There was one on there for 150 and i didnt even recognise who it belonged to so you might get a really good price. Set the reserve at 150 and if no-one buys it you can always put it up again at a lower reserve. good luck!

Thanks for doing that Shazbang. I'll have a good think. I would like to sell it to someone who really wants it, buy am terrified of selling it to a dealer who will sell it on and make a huge profit.

If anyone on the UB42 forum wants to make an offer I will certainly consider it because I know they will be serious fans. It's not really any point in it sitting in our spare bedroom!

no probs gessoo! do you wanna post your email address and i'll put it up on the UB40 forum? if you dont want your real email address posted, set up a temporary one on yahoo just for this.

Here you go Shazbang

It's an address I have never used except when I couldn't get in to AB ages ago.
