Penpals

Does anybody have a penpal.What with the internet/texting,i was wondering if anybody actually puts pen to paper these days?

i have 4 penpals altho i will email them occasionally and we speak on the phone, 2 of them i only ever write to and we've been penpals for a good 6/7 years

I would LOVE a penpal but the Nanny State of Wrexham blocks any such sites!

I'm a member of a few 'snail mail' style groups and have about 3-4 penpals. It's quite nice to get an envelope in the mail these days that isn't a bill.

One of my closest friends moved to live in Australia 5 years ago and we still write proper letters to each other. We do email a bit and call very occassionally but its so nice to get a letter from her and when i write one it is different from emails, much more detailed and personal.
We shouldnt stop writing letters, they are reminders of the past. I have a huge collection of all the letters i've recieved in my life from the very beginning and i love reading some of them now. I hope future generations of my family will enjoy them too.
