For the past 2 weeks now, I have been suffering with bad acid indigestion - I have never suffered from this before at all - today its been really bad as such I have had a bad stomach ache and felt so nauseous! Once I have chewed a Rennie or such it subsides but not for long half hour later and its back ! I am sat here feeling rather 'green' and icky indeed.....anything else I can use to relieve it ?

Go to a chemist and get Zantac. You can actually take 2 of these if you wish, but 1 should help for now. It contains 75mg ranitidine, which a doctor can prescribe at 150mg.
In the meantime? avoid acid type foods.

If it does carry on, go to the docs :-)

Here's to a happy tum!!!

Any chance you could be pregnant?
Rennie's are rubbish RQ.

I get indigestion but the type that causes pain in my chest not the burning type. Mines triggered by nerves.

Not sure if Im pregnant - have a coil, so more than likely not. LOL!

Oooh, Ummmm - I have been very nervy lately - lots of changes happening in my life....that ould be it....

THanks all!
Sorry to hear you've been suffering RQ. It may very well be plain old indigestion, but your GP will be able to diagnose & prescribe something suitable for you.

Just a bit of advice - years ago, after skipping meals all day at work, etc., I used to end up in agony with burning pains in the top of my stomach, which I thought might be indigestion & had to go to Stoke Mandeville for a barium meal.

This showed that I had a duodenal ulcer & was told not to drink coffee or eat spicy food, which I didn't anyway, also to start eating little & often. I was also given antibiotics & other medication which eased it - bliss!

I soon 'forgot' to eat at work & ended up with yet another ulcer. I had to start the treatment all over again, but have since tried to eat sensibly during the day & it has helped stave off any further problems - although I do get the odd bit of indigestion like most people.

I do hope you'll visit your GP & feel better soon too.
Yes ummmm - stress can also cause ulcers, so best for us all to try to stay cool. ;o}

Hope your problems all drift away soon RQ.
It could well be stress. Pay attention to when it starts RQ.
Is it worse when you lie down RQ?
Maybe its something you've been eating that might be too heavy for your stomach to digest? (For me, its usually high carb food).

Drink coke during/after every meal and eat lots of yoghurt as well. But as it's been going on for 2 weeks, maybe you should get it checked out just in case?
I would see your gp RQ. I used to get the same as you and saw my gp who referred me for a barium x ray. It turned out to be just acid reflux for which I was prescribed Zoton. beryllium's right, you can now buy Zantac over the counter. Never lie flat after eating either.
