Things that really freak you out!

Hi,

I don't know if this is a phobia as such but it just REALLY freaks me out!

I am terrified of shellfish!!!..... I know how bizzare this sounds and completely irrational. I now they are dead/cooked or whatever!

I have always hated them, I'm fine if people are eating it etc but can't stand it near me - but today my mum & sister had a lobster (already cooked) and I actually screamed when I opened the fridge!....my whole family thinks it is hilarious and love holding them up to me!

I've had a horrendous evening at my mums coz my son (4yrs) actually started chasing me around the sitting room with it (he was just playing - didn't really realise how I was) and my mum put it on my knee when I wasn't looking! .. I was mortified and my heart is still racing & my skin is crawling!.... I can see my self waking up in a cold sweat in the early hours!

Am I completely and utterly mental or do other people have such bizarre 'phobias' too?

Knives , I have to have them out of sight before I go to bed
And wasps ....I would jump out of a moving car to get away from one , or demand a bus driver let me off :-)

Hi bigmamma,I was on a bus one day when a wasp was buzzing around various people.It started around me,and I took out my chequebook and killed it against the window! A few people around me then clapped lol

I have Mycophobia - fear of mushrooms. I can't explain it as I start to feel sick even thinking about it!

I have a banana phobia, but I'm not sure of the name for it. I think I might be slightly Gamophobic, too. :o)
