Hi,

I want to become a personal trainer and am aware of the qualifications that I need to obtain.

My dilemma is whether to do

a) The Gym Instructor Certificate and the Personal Training Certificate with Premier (at a cost of 3k) OR:

b) Do the Gym Instructor Certificate at Loughborough College (accredited centre for YMCA) at a mere cost of 365 (c500 cheaper then Premier and over 5 weekends, meaning no time off work) then do the Personal Training Certificate with Premier.

I want to make sure I do this as well as I can and have been told there is little difference between Premier and YMCA but need to know whether these qualifications would be treated differently in the fitness industry?

Thanks

Both Premier and YMCA are thought of highly in the Industry. Unfortunately there is not much regulation in standards in the H&F industry which is why I left it, but you won't go far wrong by taking either path.

However Premier Training is brilliant for those who wish to go freelance and do Personal Training. If you just want to instruct in a gym then go for the YMCA. Or maybe do the option that mixes up the two courses? YMCA do a lot of Exercise to Music courses too.

Good luck!
