Help please

What would be needed to boost my wireless routers signal or retransmit it at least half a mile , so I could share my internet access with my brother.
Also without compromising security? everything connect to my computer or router is connected by its MAC address not wpa or wep but its just as secure it think ? hope.

No, it's totally insecure right now. You need WPA.

What you want is a wireless booster, however half a mile is really stretching it. Wimax technology is more like what you want, but it's not really standard stuff yet.
