Please can anyone help with 29a Couple have short letter for homework P?A? Just can't see what the answer could be.

pr is short for pair, but I can't see the "ep" part (yet)

Don't know if you actually have the crossword - but for the clue giving me the letter "a" I have "to a degree" as the answer (clue being Amphibian, for example on short grass to some extent) toad/e /gree - unless that is wrong the letters are P?A? for 29a Thanks anyway

I have 'To a degree' as well for 15d, but it gives me 'p-e-' for 20a which I really think must be 'prep'.

To a degree is correct, as is prep.
The 'e'' of prep coincides with first 'e' in degree

Apologies to all of you - I am indeed a "stupid woman" as I had (on closer inspection) written "to a dAgree" not that I can't spell but am just careless - so that means "pr" short for pair and "ep" short for epistle. Very many thanks
