We have a gorgeous kitten who is just 6 months old and for the last few days and nights she has been howling and screeching the house down, and demanding more attention than usual could somebody just confirm what i am thinking and that she may be in season and is she now old enough to be spayed?

Yes...but you will probably have to wait until it is over before you can have her spayed. Vets prefer not to do the operation til after because while she's calling her reproductive organs have a much richer blood supply & complications can occur.
