I recently had Aqualoc tile effect laminate flooring laid whilst having a new kitchen fitted. The fitters laid it up to the skirting under the white goods and only part way under all the units.I understood it should be laid to the walls all the way round or it is likely to shift, but they said they always do this and have had no problem. Is this the right way to do it?
Also can anyone advise how this flooring should be cleaned. There are some scuff marks and tar stains left after the fitters left and although the flooring is for kitchens and bathrooms I am informed that it must not be got wet. The usual laminate floor cleaners do not remove these marks.

White spirit is good for tar, if you don't want to use that then I find half a bucket of water mixed with half a bottle of vinegar and 2 large tea spoons of bicarbonated soda will shift just about anything.
