I drove my vehicle with my friend following in hers, and when we got home her windscreen, and the back of my van was splattered with oil. On looking under my van-there was an oil leak from somewhere under the engine-the top was clean. Using the dipstick-there was no oil left.
What could have gone wrong?

coulp benything from a cracked sump(thin metal part of the base of the engine) or just a broken seal. do not drive it or start it with no oil.
Have you got an oil cooler or anything like that, go under the engine to see where the oil leak started from and then try and fix it, if not it's a garage job...
That's a pretty serious leak, to have got on the windscreen of the car behind. Don't start it without oil in - fill it up, start it and get underneath. You should be able to see such a leak. Alternatively call someone who knows what they're looking for.
if the leak is as bad as you say,get the engine steam cleaned,(be careful to cover electrics)fill it up with oil and run it to see where its leaking from, are you sure it dident come out of the exhaust pipe,as its very unlikely to be on your windsceen from just a engine leak.

it could be the oil pressure switch
check it's not coming out the exhaust pipe.
