A recipe has red pepper flakes in the ingredients. I do not know where to find these. I have looked amongst all the spices, peppers and herbs section of our large supermarket but was unable to find them. could they go under another name?
Red pepper flakes is used to add hotness in any recipe and can be an optional ingredient. You can substitute with hot pepper sauce or just omit it from the recipe.
It's available in any Asian or Indian shops in the food section.
Figure, you may be thinking of chilli flakes. If that's what's in your recipe, Kazal, then Figure's right, but if it's ordinary pepper flakes you're after, you can get Whitworth's dried pepper flakes in Asda or the Co-Op (look near the dried beans & soup mixes ).
