Wonder if anyone can help?

My husband tried to put his xD-picture card 32MB in his camera and it says 'Card not initialised'. The manual says try formatting the picture card but we don't know how to do it and there's no instructions to say.

Any ideas?

I would have thought the manual that came with the camera would tell you how to format the card.

Each camera is different but try going into the menu options for the camera and finding "setup" or maybe "card setup" or something like that.

Under those options above should be a "Format" option.

Note Format will delete ALL pictures off a card so never do it when you have pictures you want to save.

Thank you for that, there was nothing in the camera menu when I looked and couldn't download the manual as we've got Vista, but thank you anyway.

Feel a complete idiot now. Have just found what I needed in the manual and was also looking at the wrong bit on the camera. Have now managed to do it.

Why does vista prevent you accessing the link provided?Page 57 of the manual shows the procedure for formatting the card.Basically you go to menu and use the left/right scroll buttons to get to the menu section for deleting or formatting,then the up/down scrolling to get to formatting.
