Viviparous means bearing live young, and oviparous means laying eggs. I'm pretty sure snakes lay eggs, but I'm sure someone will correct me if there are any that don't.
i thought all snakes lay eggs but maybe i am wrong.kool kitty

Pythons lay eggs, but boas do give birth to live young.

The definitions that keen2learn gave are right.

Garter snakes and rattlesnakes, also give birth to live young.
