I know his cakes were exceedingly good, not so sure about his writing skills though.

Yes, I am an aunty - got hundreds of nieces and nephews. (Well, it feels that way sometimes).

Occasionally Ruddy used to bake for all of us, spent all Sunday in our kitchen up to his eyeballs in dough.

Psst .... I'll let you into a secret, but keep it to yourself ...... I taught him all he knew about baking cakes! I'm an expert at spotting a good fruitcake when I see one!

Hi again lajohn,

Ruddy and I parted company the day he made us a giant cake. The rotten b*gger decided he wasn't going to let us have any of it, wanted it all for himself .......

Well, he decided he was gonna have his cake and eat it, so we told him to b*gger off and we never saw him again. Was glad to read he's now writing books though - I wish him no ill-will. In fact, somebody should suggest he tries marketing his cakes - could be a good money spinner for him. :o )
