Not quite up to Ross's standard, but was it wise so soon after.
Taking into account that Jeremy is an educated person, this was a silly remark to make. He could have made a much less offensive remark such as:
'You've got to change gear, change gear, change gear, check mirror... eat a 'Full English'. Change gear, change gear, pay another visit to the 'Greasy Spoon' That's a lot of effort in a day.'
Why did he have to make the remark about murdering prostitutes?

there is very little that you can't explain to a child actually, and the more open honest and informed most children are the more well balanced and unjudgmental they become as adults, but hey that's just my opinion. iId be personally more worried about moral censorship than anything that either Clarkson, Brand or Ross have said.
No the watershed is for a reason http://www.bbc.co.uk/guidelines/editorialguide lines/edguide/harm/televisionthewa.shtml
This (in my opinion and also backed up by various other posters and presumably the BBC) is that this was a humorous remark which was suitable for broadcasting before the watershed.
People can take offence at pretty much any remark easily. People were even 'offended' by the way that female presenters had a poppy on their left hand side instead of the right hand side, prompting one presenter to state that this had been checked with the British Legion, and was okay.
Of course there should be a watershed, and there is always going to be a dispute as to what is appropriate, however in this case, I believe that the remark was made in humour and could be easily explained to a child.
As I said, do you think all slap stick comedy should be banned before the watershed, and all films such as Home Alone, given a 15 rating?

I agree - there's far too many people who jump up and claim to be offended.
But, given that you agree it's a matter of opinion, can you see why other's might not share that view? (I'm undecided personally.) You seemed to find it risible earlier.
If Clarkson made a joke about Scottish scout leaders collecting guns and shooting schoolchidren, would that be okay? It's only a Dunblane joke which could easily be explained to a child
