My son is nearly 10 and loves the Horrid Henry books and is coming to the end of the series. Can anyone recommend another series of boots for his reading age.

Thanks for the super-quick answer. We will have a look at those, although he does not like things that are too creepy and keep him awake! We have also tried the Captain Underpants series as well!!!
What about the Horrible Histories? Theyre quite fun and 10 is a good age for non-fiction.
Or the Series of Unfortunate Events perhaps?
Usborne have a range called Oliver Moon which are stories on a level with Horrid Henry Id say.

Good luck, can be hard to wean them off favourite characters!

Captain Underpants by Dav Pilkey
horrible histories are really cool!
try them.
:)
How to train your dragon - cressida cowell - all about the adventures of Hiccup the pirate - very funny. There are about 7 in this series.

I agree with Captain Underpantsl.

He could probably handle Harry Potter as well.
Would the Mr Gum series be too young? Those are also very good.
i was just going to suggest harry potter , i am 27 and have just read this series and i have to say after years of slagging off other adults whom have read the books i have to eat my words as i thouroughly enjoyed the them.

Thank you for all your wonderful suggestions - lots of ideas for Christmas.

Somebody recommended the Oliver Moon series by Usborne books as they are similar to Horrid Henry. Would these be a little young for a nearly 10 year old. Has anyone caught sight of these?
these books are good as well, Michael Morpugo also does a lot of good books for that age group.
