I am a devout Christian. I believe the Bible is the infallible, inerrant Word of God. I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. I don't think I have ever met a true athiest. I am curious as to how you think, what do you believe will happen when you die? Where do you think the beauty that bestows us each and every day with the sunrise to the sunset came from?

The bible is not to be taken literally..... it uses mataphor and poem!

The bible holds the biggest key to life.....

You can read the bible with your mind 1000 times or more.... and you will never understand it...maybe the opposite!
to understand the bible, a person must use his pure heart..... but unfortunatly, most people are preocupied with worldly and mindly gains that their "true" heart is lost.

The word "day" in the bible....doesnt explain what you and me now understand to be one day ie 24hours.... translated it means nothing more than "length of time"

The bible is the word of god.... that what man or religious circles do with it is their thing....and you cant blame god for that!!

The church has failed....but of course.... its man made!!

A fight in Jesus name....catholics vs protestants...the blind against the blind

BTW Jake..... prayer is not some kinda magic genie bottle where you can summon wishes! so there really is no need to compare the two ie...silly question

Naomi.... your stated uglies are all but man made!

Anna....... yes you are right, the contradictions of the churchs and crooked church dooers goers put god in a bad light.... but that was predicted....

Bur everone has free will..... we are all free to learn.... to learn about ourselves, and to read....the bible and supporting books...... there are no excuses!

Naomi.... your stated uglies are all but man made!

How do you work that one out?

OK, even if we give you the benefit of the doubt and say (just for argument's sake) the 2004 Tsunami was caused, fundamentally, by our nuclear tests, that doesn't explain disasters such as Krakatoa in 1883, the destruction of Pompeii in AD79, or the San Francisco earthquake in 1906. To deny that natural disasters are created by anything other than nature (aka by the faithful as God), is an excuse and it's a cop out. There is a good deal of ugliness in this world that is not man-made, but it seems that fact is too difficult for believers to admit and to accept.

The ultimate denial - your religion states that god is everywhere and that gon knows all, therefore he know when man gets it wrong, he has to because he will judge you in heaven.

So why do the innocents die? Even more so why do the faithfull die or suffer?

The church has failed because its man made??? so everything the faithfull do is wrong because its man made if so then gods hand is not in anything is it because man is made by god.

Your book, which is man made but is the "word of god" is the answer, but any thing wrong is man made with no interference from god?

Some time I do wonder that how much free time people have to waste.
keyplus90....I would expect most men to be at work, earning their crust, at this busy time. Y aren't you? R u a pensioner?
Why do you make the amount of time others spend here your business, Keyplus? It's nothing to do with you, but it seems to bother you constantly. Perhaps its because you'd like anyone who disagrees with you and out-argues you to disappear from AB altogether. Never mind. We can't always have what we want.
