"A terrible danger to wildlife".

I have seen dolphins, dead, with their snouts jammed  into these terrible things - unable to eat they starved. Also land animals get caught in them. They will allegedly take 10,000 years to degrade, so who knows how many put on a tip now will eventually end up in the sea?

If you do buy any of these, you can potentially save lives by cutting or breaking each ring before you dispose of it.

Yes I already do break mine up before disposal. Interestingly looking on the internet I find that they are now being made biodegradable so as not to cause quite so much of a problem?

How caring Solarjunkie - we cut ours too, just in case they blow away in the wind at tidy tips & end up injuring wildlife!
